GETTING STARTED

Your first pattern,
one step at a time.

Start with the sample measurements to learn the workflow, or add a person and enter your own. The studio guide follows your progress.

  1. Add a person

A person groups measurement sets, blocks, and patterns. Give them a recognizable name. Sample data creates its own person and never replaces your existing work.

  2. Measure and save a set

Use the mannequin guides to position your tape. Blue marks the active measurement, yellow marks warnings, and red marks errors. Complete the fields and save the measurement set before creating a block.

  3. Create a bodice block

Open Blocks, choose New block, then select your saved measurement set. Review the draft and its diagnostics. A block keeps a snapshot of its source measurements.

  4. Develop a pattern

Open Patterns and create a design from your block. Adjust the design, save it, and add optional notes for individual pieces. Changes to measurements do not silently reshape saved designs.

  5. Print and make a toile

Open Print & export. Print the PDF at 100% / actual size, check the scale square, then assemble the pages. Test the fit in inexpensive fabric before cutting your final fabric.

Accounts, saving & existing work

What does “Saved” mean?

The account bar reports whether the library has reached the server. Some editors also have a Save action to commit a measurement revision or regenerate a design. Saving a library does not automatically commit those editor changes.

What if a save fails?

Keep the tab open. Retry after reconnecting. Export unsaved work before reloading or signing out. If another device changed the same library, export your changes, load the latest library, then reconcile them deliberately.

How do I recover my account?

Use Forgot password with your username and the recovery code shown at signup. Save each new recovery code privately; using it replaces the old code. Email recovery is not currently available. If Google is connected to your account, you can sign in with Google instead. Connect it from Account and preferences while signed in to your existing library. Google-only accounts use Google for account recovery.

Can I trust the mannequin to predict fit?

The mannequin is inferred from measurements, and the fabric preview is an approximation. Extreme proportions can expose limitations. Review the flat pattern, check seam diagnostics, and make a toile.

What devices work best?

A recent desktop browser gives you the most space for drafting. 3D features depend on your device’s graphics support. You can still use flat pattern views and PDF export without relying on a 3D preview.
